Kincardine Bulldogs eliminated from playoffs by Fergus
The Kincardine Bulldogs battled until the final horn, Friday night, but fell, 7-4, to the Fergus Whalers, bringing the 'Dogs 2025-26 season to a close at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Bulldogs were down, 2-0, in the playoff series, heading into Game 3, Wednesday night in Fergus. The Whalers won that game, 8-4.
Scoring for Kincardine, were Cole Lewis, Zasha Ortman, Jackson Hayward-Nelson, and Bryce Martin.
Assists went to Tyler Kelly (2), Ryan Robillard (2) and Tyler Wagler.
The Bulldogs had 30 shots on goal, while Fergus had 47.
Goalie Blake Beitz made 39 saves on 47 shots in the Kincardine net.
In Kincardine, Friday night, the Whalers downed the home team, 7-4, taking Game 4 and the series, in the Pollock Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
Bulldogs scorers included Nathan Lavender, Ryan Robillard, Jared Houghton, and Kelly.
Assists went to Kelly, Lewis (2), Wagler and goalie Myles McKnight.
Fergus had 43 shots on goal, compared to 29 by Kincardine.
Beitz made 36 saves on 43 shots in the Bulldogs net.
Friday night also marked the final junior game for five Bulldogs over-agers — players who have worn the crest with pride and left their mark on this program. These include:
- Carson Stutzman — Goderich
- Tyler Wagler — Milverton
- Nathan Lavender — Sarnia
- Cole Lewis — Stratford (Special OA)
- Austin Griffin — Durham
